Inspired by the painting of Fan Kuan’s (Chinese landscape painter of the Song Dynasty ). Best known work: Travellers among Mountains and Streams, 990 A.D, China

Traditional Chinese landscape painting usually illustrates the noble pursuit of "Heaven and Man." The hormonal between man and nature in its perfect state. But in today's China, environmental pollution and the destruction of natural ecology is becoming increasingly problematic.

Cai collected X-Ray from the state-run medical office. The images documented the suffering & damage these workers endured in the name of progress. Cai combined the images to the heavenly tranquility of landscape paintings. The collision of the conflict between nature and productivities is evident. Cai hopes this will lead to a better understanding of the contradiction between the environment and man.
