About Christopher Saunders

Christopher Saunders is an artist best known for his deconstructed landscape paintings and works on paper. He distills landscape imagery into minimalist planes of suggestive color, repetitive space, and architectural remnants. His paintings have been exhibited at Glenn Horowitz, Allegra LaViola Gallery, and Silas Marder Gallery among other venues. Saunders received his MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, and his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. The artist was a 2010 Fellow in Painting, awarded by the New York Foundation for the Arts, and a recipient of the prestigious Virginia Museum of Fine Art Fellowship.
