Photographer and photojournalist Christopher Thomas is known for his portraits of cities devoid of human presence. Working predominantly in the early hours of morning, and using a large-format camera and black-and-white Polaroid film to achieve richness of detail and tonal nuance, Thomas has captured numerous iconic sights and buildings around cities like New York and Venice. Caught with long exposures, Thomas’s images appear hazy, atmospheric, and timeless. Themes explored in his photojournalistic projects have included orphans and sufferers of leprosy.
