Claude Venard, ‘Le vase’, Daphne Alazraki Fine Art

Our painting depices a colorful, lively still life. Quasi-abstract, the work features Venard’s typical use of a bold brushstrokes with the palette of both bright and earthy tones. The tall vase on the table is the focal point of this work. It is painted in white, brown and green tones, which render the vase a three dimensional dynamic. The blue table cloths are painted with geometric shapes and sharp lines. The bright orange and green tones in the background provide the composition great contrast and draw further attention to the table arrangement. The abstract quality is enhanced by the skewed perspective of this composition.
