The relationship between man and nature has transformed the city, and its landscape has acquired new skylines. Claudia Jaguaribe’s images show this new reality in which the city expands out into the hills and nature gradually loses more ground. Her photographs, taken from multiple points of view, explore different areas of the city, including the poorer areas, in order to reveal the complexity of this new reality. Completing these panoramas of the city are the libraries of images taken based on photographs of different forest regions in Rio de Janeiro, appearing as if imaginary archives of nature transforming under urban pressures.
