Clayton Calvert, ‘Fireworks at Night’, 2014, The Watermill Center: Benefit Auction 2017

Clayton Calvert is an American artist based in New York City. He works in painting, sculpture, audiovisual media and installations. His art is concerned with the fleeting nature of experience and focuses on how to translate that into something more permanent. Fireworks are ideal subjects for Calvert and he has returned to the motif frequently. He has shown extensively throughout the past decade in New York, the Hamptons and around the world. Calvert studied with renowned artists Carlo Maria Mariani, John Foote and Thomas Lollar. Calvert was also a finalist for the 2011 Saatchi Showdown SCOPE New York.
