Concha Jerez, ‘Advices on the Religious Vocation’, 1978, Aural

The artist selected various pages of the book -due to the relevance of the texts- and separated the remaining gluing them.
On the selected pages, there are parts of the texts (not selected), which are intervened by the artist with illegible self- censored writings, preserving the typographic structure of the book.
This work is part of a series of old books found and chosen by the artist at the Rastro (Flea-market) of Madrid.
The interventions were decided using different criteria discovered by the artist in the first book.

Poesía, curated by Francisco Carpio. A tres bandas, Freijó Fine Art Gallery, Madrid, 2014.
