Curtis Anderson, ‘"Zweisamkeit" ("Togetherness")’, 2016, The Watermill Center: Benefit Auction 2017

Curtis Leslie Anderson is an American born German artist based in Cologne and Berlin. He studied at The Cooper Union and has been based in Europe since 1985. His work has been shown at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, The Drawing Center in New York, the Soho Guggenheim in New York, the Spiral Museum in Tokyo and innumerable commercial galleries, most recently at the agua8 gallery in Lugano, Switzerland. The “Togetherness” piece is based on a macro photo made of an anatomical collage from 1992 and is Anderson’s recognition of human values following a catastrophic year in which he lost his principal home and atelier to a fire. —Courtesy of The Watermill Center
