Estimate: $3,000. In an ongoing project called “The Holy K Movement,” conceptual artist Daniel Arango produces work compiling the experiences of his travels. One facet of this project are his cereal box interventions, in which Arango guerilla-drops his pieces (in this case modified cereal boxes) onto the shelves of grocery stores. This particular example focuses on identity and sexual orientation.

About Daniel Arango

When Daniel Arango was 3 years old, his family fled Colombia’s civil war, moving to Miami. Since leaving the Gulf Coast for an education in NYC, Daniel has traveled the world and tapped into his ever-changing sense of place to inform his work. In an ongoing project called “The Holy K Movement,” Arango produces work compiling the experiences of his travels and strange encounters, working to build a following of new fans along the way. One facet of this project are his cereal box interventions, in which Arango guerilla-drops some of his pieces (in this case modified cereal boxes) onto the shelves of groceries. Arango’s blend of travel, street art, and direct experience echoes important voices of 20th century bohemia.
