About Daniela Kostova
As an artist, curator, and gallery director, Daniela Kostova encourages the development of the community of Bulgarian artists working in America. In her mixed-media works, Kostova investigates the ways in which social, political, and family structures shape perceptions of oneself and one’s community. Kostova’s installation Fixing Reality (2004) involved placing a large blue screen in public settings in the United States. The screen was later digitally “filled” with images of Bulgaria in an attempt to bridge the geographic and social divides between the two countries in which Kostova lives and works.
