About Danny Huff
In his spare, abstract compositions, artist Danny Huff uses minimal gestures and a variety of materials including oil paint, watercolor, gesso, and gouache. The works—collaged compositions on paper or mixed-media paintings on board—often begin in response to observations of Huff’s surroundings, or as a response to the physical qualities of the materials he is working with. “I have studied the history of abstract art and its philosophy as I find it interesting that it evolved around the time I was born,” the self-trained artist has said. “Using various materials and media, a piece of paper or a particular observance is enough to get started.”
