Derek Boshier, ‘Study of Buddy Holly for 'I Wonder What my Heroes Think of the Space Race’, 1962, Whitford Fine Art

This drawing is a study for a painting which belongs to the Government Art Collection (GAC) and was displayed at the British Embassy in Moscow (the painting refers to the 1961 flight by Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin). In June 2011 it was exhibited at the Whitechapel Gallery, together with other paintings from the GAC.
