Artist Donald Robertson says that 99 per cent of painting is getting the ideas out of your head and into the open air. The minute he unpacked the unadorned brain sculpture, the voices in his noggin were telling him what to do. He likes how it turned out and he likes what it's for. A no-brainer.

About Donald Robertson

Shunning Realism, Donald Robertson is largely influenced by color, fashion, celebrity, and humor. Loose brushwork and collage becomes gestural human figures, who inhabit a world awash in bright patterns. His background in illustration most frequently results in comparisons to Andy Warhol, yet Robertson cites Wes Anderson and Damien Hirst as his main sources of inspiration. The artist’s Instagram account propelled him to international popularity, including noted collaborations with fashion brands, and his current position as a creative director at Estée Lauder.
