About Dwyer Kilcollin
Best known for her carved, pigmented plaster works that reference consumerism, technology, and quotidian life, Dwyer Kilcollin works with a range of materials and subject matter. She considers her interests to lie primarily “in understanding how our physical relationship to objects is affected by the language of images and the increasing accessibility of virtual space,” as she says. Her recent bodies of work were generated using algorithms, digital rendering, and 3D printing, as well as hand carving and casting, and she is currently working on a collation of virtual relief sculptures for the iPhone.
