A stunning example of the work of an American Master Painter Edward Evans', born in 1935. Edwards work visually is stunning. The degree of illusion he achieves through his mastery of airbrush techniques is unique and different than the work of other traditional artists. The 3-d illusion of his work often mistaken as photographic prints until close examination to realize it is painted on Canvas.
“Imposed Symmetry” came as a concept loosely based on a previous painting captured the color on the rocks and ground. This painting is mostly about formal elements.
In this painting, the Edward wanted to create a contrast in direction and stabilize the composition by making long horizontal shapes that cross the verticals. The translucent horizontals encourage subtleties contained on the verticals to show through.
