Elizabeth DaCosta Ahern, ‘Minha Viagem III’, 2015, Galerie d'Orsay

An internationally celebrated artist who studied under the revolutionary Abstract Expressionist artist Helen Frankenthaler, Elizabeth explores through her art her fascination with contemplation, imagination, and time altered after-memories of experiences. Ahern’s technique carries on and innovates in the tradition of Color Field Painting, “soak staining” her canvases, resulting in a product that is at once delicate and unforgettably sensual.
