Erdem Taşdelen, ‘Tide’, 2010, Galeri NON

This animation takes as its premise the sentence "I never want to see you again", which is repeatedly inserted into different texts, in different colours. The words and phrases fade in and out at a steady rhythm like the tide of the sea with a slick aesthetic, resulting in the breaking down of language, meaning and emotional context. What's left behind form this array of texts is a landscape of vibrantly coloured dots flashing on the screen, evoking a sense of accumulation over time.
