Erica Mahinay’s work extracts from traditional and familiar tropes of the nude, the still life, and the landscape in order to play with the complexities and absurdity of a contemporary human condition in which the options for reinventing the self are countless and accessible. Mahinay received her BFA in Art from Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA at Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has had solo exhibitions at Fused Space, San Francisco, curated by Jessica Silverman; and T293, Naples, Italy; she will have a solo exhibition at Lyles & King, New York in 2017. Mahinay is represented by T293, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
