About Ernesto Caivano

New York-based artist Ernesto Caivano is known for his intricate ink and graphite drawings that reference such diverse sources as Asian screen painting and scrolls, archaeology, Art Nouveau decoration, physics, geometry, technology, botany, and medieval and Renaissance literature and fairy tales. The artist's epic visual narrative After the Woods (2001-) comprises hundreds of drawings and works on paper that tell the fantastic, carefully imagined tale of the reunion of a knight and princess after a separation of 1,000 years.
