Fabio Bucciarelli, ‘The Dream’, 2016, Raffaella De Chirico

This is a picture done on the seaside of Calais, near the camp called the Jungle, where thousand of people mostly coming from Afghanistan, Pakistan and african countries and were living. Feb 2016.

During the creation of The Dream, Fabio used various technical tools to suggest the reader a different point of view on the current condition of the migrant. The use of pinhole images, created with Pinolina (unique camera, built specifically for the development the project) give rhythm to the book, transporting the reader to a participated experience.

The Dream
The book is limited edition of 1000 copies where in 180 pages alternate black and white images, diptychs, montages and color images. 100 copies are Special Edition, distributed inside a "book vest" made by refugees - hosted in the Pikpa welcome camp of the island of Lesbos - with lifejackets used by them to reach Europe, each book is unique and unrepeatable , a product that seals the collaboration between the author and the protagonists.
The Special Edition also contains one of the four photographs chosen in a 25-print run on fine art paper Hahnemuhle German Etching 310gsm.
