Fabrizio Prevedello, ‘Noce 128 (56)’, 2011, Cardelli & Fontana artecontemporanea

I sculpted a portrait of a walnut tree using the direct carving technique.
A walnut tree was traditionally planted by the grandfather at the birth of a grandchild, who would grow up alongside it and use its wood.
This particular tree stands along Trail No. 128 next to the ruin of an abandoned house.
The rite of passage was presumably interrupted.
