Floyd Elzinga, ‘Branch with Three Cones’, 2017, Oeno Gallery

A composition of three small, open pine cones in steel on a thick steel branches sits on the ground as though having just fallen from a tree.

Elzinga completed a BFA at NSCAD and studied Earth Sciences at McMaster University. Elzinga’s pine cone sculptures have been featured as part of Toronto’s Scotiabank Nuit Blanche celebration of contemporary art, and his work is held in collections across Ontario including the City of Ottawa, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto.
