Hip Hop, Punk, and the Rise of Graffiti in 1980s New York
The legend of American graffiti, Futura is well-known by his abstract works. And what can be more abstract than our understanding and vision of the subatomic world? It exists in reality, but we may only guess or imagine how actually the electrons, protons, neutrinos and quarks look like...
In one of series, which the artist paints outside as well as on canvas, – in these spontaneous, intuitive works he expresses the feeling of atomic world. One can say that Futura is an example of how the “quantum revolution” enters the artistic environment and influences the poetic subconscious, even though this influence is not always evident.
