About Georg Küttinger

Georg Küttinger’s work blurs the boundaries between painting and photography. Using repeated and digitally collaged fragments of landscape photographs, Küttinger creates painterly, panoramic views of imagined vistas. In Bollenstreek (2013), he takes an especially formalist approach, with photographic elements reduced into long lines of color stretching across its surface. Küttinger compares his landscapes to metaphors, seeing them as both representational and abstract.
