Giovanni Garcia-Fenech is not a spiritual person, but he believes in ghosts. Garcia-Fenech believes that people, long gone, live on in us via the ideas they imparted, the impressions they left, the feelings they engendered that refuse to fade away. These ghosts are summoned, consciously or not, purposefully or accidentally, and thus their shapes are arbitrary, depending on their receptor and the circumstances in which they return; the configurations are endless. His new paintings capture the ghosts that haunt him as he works. Some he welcomes, some he tolerates, and all are very real.

These were completed in “one take” as if channeled by the artist.

Series: Giovanni Garcia-Fenech, Ghosts. See our Machamux Gallery page for Giovanni's paintings.
