Golnar Adili, ‘A Thousand Pages of Chest in A Thousand Pages of Mirror’, 2011, La Napoule Art Foundation

Here, the image is transferred onto pink paper and layered with more paper and beeswax behind the image. The beeswax transforms the paper into a skin-like translucent material and gives it weight allowing the cuts to hang gracefully. The title of the piece is a translated line of a contemporary Persian poem by Yadollah Royayee.
