Golnar Adili, ‘Chest’, 2012, La Napoule Art Foundation

This piece is made of twigs that have the same form of the "ye"'s in my mother's letters to my father. "ye" is a letter in the Farsi alphabet which sounds like the "y" in the English alphabet. I was attracted to them and did an extensive series on it since the way my mother wrote them was expressive, and very drawing-like. Then I used these twigs to make a chest, which is a theme I have been repeating in my work.
