Graeme Messer is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in London. Drawing on his background in theatre, Graeme interweaves performance with assemblage, light-art and the written word to create an art that is direct, funny, moving, uncomfortable and unashamedly autobiographical. Using a unique combination of etching and LED technology to adapt mirrors from a variety of sources including a 1930’s funfair and a WWII tank, Graeme illuminates our daily fears and fantasies with wry humour and brutal honesty. Vintage framed mirror, gold face shape etching with LED light panel, with the text: Grab Life by the Balls. Taking on a more satirical approach to the traditional portrait, the etching allows for the viewer to greater connect with the work, and 'reflect' upon the message behind the text. Invest in Art, Art is for Life!
