About Greg Gossel
Greg Gossel’s work both features and criticizes icons of pop culture, as the artist investigates society’s obsession with materialism and status symbols. The richly textured surfaces of his works are a result of multiple techniques such as silkscreen, collage, and diverse hand painting styles. Gossel describes his creative process as spontaneous, in which he organically attempts to find a balance between more mechanical techniques and expressive mark making. The artist’s background in design is also evident through the various typographic and geometric elements that appear throughout the layers of his works.
