Naturalism Emerges from Abstraction in Greg Ragland’s New Paintings
Greg Ragland’s colorful acrylic paintings are inspired by the tranquility of the outdoors, which he has always been captivated by. Depicting flowers, birds, and horses, Ragland’s paintings feature monochromatic backgrounds and simple compositions to evoke suspended, meditative moments in nature. “The colors evoke moods and feelings causing imaginations to flow,” says the artist of his series “Color Fields.” Ragland studied architecture and fine arts and lived in Los Angeles and New York City before settling in Utah, where he has created several public sculptures.
