Gregg Conly’s “Harmonic Series” represents a departure, a new direction for his painting. Organic, rectangular bands of color stretch horizontally across the canvases. Through their simplicity and the interaction of color in its purest form, he can communicate emotions and moods that sometimes the logical mind can not translate into words. “I wanted to give people joy,” says Gregg. “That’s why I work in oil rather than acrylic. With acrylic you can’t get the density of color. And with each coat of oil paint, the surface gets better and richer.”

This 52 inch tall by 48 inch wide vertical multi-colored artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this abstract artwork are painted black. It does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. $275 shipping within Continental US. Affordable worldwide shipping options available. A certificate of authenticity and hanging hardware are included.

Conly is interested in how his artworks interact with their environments. “The paintings work in a confined area and are meant to be viewed up close,” the artist explains. He strives to “ignite that exhilarating visual dialogue between the surface of the painting and the other surrounding color forms and patterns in the room. In that sense, I consider them decorative.”

Gregg Conly was born in Pennsylvania and received a BS from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science concentrating on Weaving and Print Design. He now lives and works in Los Angeles.
