Guillaume Castel, ‘Pétale’, 2016, Galerie Ariane C-Y

This small version derives from a monumental one exhibited this summer for "Sogni d'Oro" in Rome, at AlbumArte, space for contemporary art.
The series derives from Natural forms. The Pétales are made of steel plates cut by hand and assembled by the sculptor. He opposes the raw industrial material to the preciosity of gold. The organic form is based on a delicate balance in order to express the elegance and fragility of Nature.
