“Book Land” is a series of book sculpture archipelagos, an installation comprising of reconstructed books from the artist’s collection.

The main aspect of the project is to explore the multifarious images constructed by the illustrations and extract a visual content from the world of reading, representing the artist’s interpretation of the books in a kaleidoscopic landscape. The intended result will present a world that is full of variety, with a montage of illustrations and typography, fully capturing and expanding the dynamics and beauty of the content the books contain.

By carving up his books, he hopes to allow the medium a more visual interpretation in an assemblage of various constructions and extensions of the book. Each island will represent a smaller component integral to the installation as a whole. Custom made tables and wall drawings will accompany as a structural element to enhance geographical definition to the narrative.
