About Hélène Delprat

Parisian artist Hélène Delprat blends documentary and fiction in self-deprecating personal narratives touching on universal themes. She works in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, photography and video, and finds inspiration in a range of sources, from ancient Greek literature and Romantic novels to film noir, French cinema, and radio. Delprat uses her daily practice to examine the many sides of life and death, with an emphasis on the latter. Through her journal-like exercises, radio drawings, and false interviews, she finds moments of humor amid sadness and discovers evidence of humanity in our increasingly digital world.
