The Collection of Light 120 corresponds to the number of LED lights that together constitute a lamp. This collective arrangement honors each individual LED, which is labeled in detail and displayed like the insects of a proud entomologist (the lights are housed in refurbished 70 year-old insect collection drawers from the Museum of Natural History in Stockholm).

About Humans Since 1982

Collaborating under their studio Humans Since 1982, Stockholm-based design duo Per Emanuelsson and Bastian Bischoff repurpose common objects to create conceptual sculptures and installations that explore the relationship of function and design. Claiming to “arouse curiosity by creating material hints of how the world might be,” the pair are known for projects like Clock Clock, a functioning digital clock composed of 24 analogue alarm clocks, and Surveillance Chandelier, a hanging light fixture composed of surveillance cameras that have been refurbished as lamps. Emanuelsson was raised in Stockholm and studied science before meeting Bischoff in their masters program at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg; Bischoff had studied communication design and was raised in the German countryside.
