Itzchak Tarkay, ‘Eloisa’, Baterbys Art Gallery

Itzchak Tarkay was one of the key figures in the modern figurative movement. He was inspired by the Fauvists use of bright colors and flat patterns. His paintings often feature female figures casually lounging in cafes and domestic settings. Tarkay does not focus on details, but instead uses color and form to evoke a feeling of mystery.

This is an unique work from the collection of the artist.
