Iza Tarasewicz, ‘Backbone’, 2011, BWA Warszawa

Leaned and converging with the wall lat a single point, „Backbone” shows that the spin that holds all bodily structures is not autonomous but reciprocal, it needs othe structures for suport just as they need it. Expunging flesh and eroding body of its brittle vertebrae poses architecture not as a transposed perfection of a human form, but rather a monument to the traces of the body, the skeletal fragment that resists temporality and mortality as the rest recedes into the earth.”
