Jake Phipps is a London-based artist creating unique, handmade pieces of art-furniture. In 2005,Phipps opened his own studio in London wherein he worked for top European companies producing design works. In 2010 Phipps turned his focus to his own unique and highly engineered pieces. Today, his work is characterized by energetic and elegant metallic forms that reflect and retract light, creating for monumental gem-like art-furniture that sparkles throughout the day.
Phipps trained under the acclaimed furniture maker John Makepeace at Parnham College after his studies at the Sherborne School in Dorset. Today, his work resides in prestigious collections worldwide and has received recognition by design guilds and publications. His mirrored console from his Stellar series (featured in Elle Decor) was awarded a guild mark and subsequently won the Claxton Stevens Award in 2013.
As the artist works on a commission basis, custom dimensionality may be accommodated for a bespoke piece.
