Born in Thornbury, England, Jane Benson lives and works in London and New York. Working mainly in sculpture, video, and performance, she is concerned with division and connection, the disruption of traditional aesthetic processes, and the fractured nature of geo-political territoriality. Benson has exhibited in national and international venues including MoMA PS1, New York; Sculpture Center, Long Island City, New York; The Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia; The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art, Edinburgh. Benson has also had numerous solo exhibitions, including at Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH; LMAKgallery, New York; Pavel Zoubok Gallery, New York; Boca Raton Museum of Art, Boca Raton, FL; and so forth. Her work has been reviewed in publications such as the New York Times, ArtForum, the New Yorker, among others.
