Jason Polan, ‘22 giraffes’, 2017, CMA: Benefit Auction 2017

Jason Polan
Jason Polan is an artist and illustrator, who is currently trying to sketch every person in New York. Armed with pen and paper, Polan has created thousands of live line drawings while stationed on street corners, in the subway, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, or wherever the urge takes him. The quick, continuous lines of his works capture the frenetic energy of the city’s streets, while the intimacy of each drawing provides a personal and intimate glimpse into the anonymous hordes of New York. Polan’s illustrations and projects have appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Believer Magazine and ARTnews. He has done projects with Jack Spade, Warby Parker, Levi's, and The Ford Foundation.
