JeeYoung Lee, ‘Oversleeping’, 2009, Opiom Gallery

I acquired the idea from the fable, ?The Ant and the Grasshopper.? I painted the window to suggest light is entering the room and added the light?s reflection on the floor, which insinuates that the time of day is after sunrise. It seems that it?s past time to get up, but the figure is still asleep. In contrast, I used the image of diligently-moving ants to remind myself that the world still goes around even when I?m being idle.
