These works are a part of an ongoing series of paintings that I call "Selective Landscapes." The fragments of shapes with varying colors and textures represent elements of the public landscapes that we inhabit and I notice on a daily basis. My process for gathering inspiration includes noticing these moments and archiving them in my mind, to then create a story about a collective experience of existing in a place. My hope is that by looking at my work people will then begin to notice and be present in shared spaces where we all coexist and overlap, creating a visual landscape that is both unintentional and intentional while ultimately telling the story of who we are as a people.
