Jian Wu, ‘Rose’, 2008, Galerie d'Orsay

For Wu Jian it’s all about the subtle, fleeting moments that often pass unnoticed. His masterful eye and brilliant technique bring his viewers not only the volume, color, and texture of his beautiful painted subjects, but the most ephemeral of all qualities — the human spirit. Mastering the traditional techniques of perspective, composition, and form at an early age, Wu Jian studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Shanghai and soon came to participate in numerous national juried exhibitions throughout the East.
