“Blueprints, our home is the reflection of ourselves”. Blueprints are an unusual form of portraits. Like a mirror, our home reflects ourselves. Cardozo reveals the personalities of her subjects by creating and photographing shadows of objects found in their homes. Each shadow is collaged together within the architectural floor plans of the subject’s domestic space. Colors and textures play a role in helping portray the person. She invites the viewer to wander from room to room and discover what these plants, instruments, animals, and furniture imply about a person. People become more conscious of what they might inadvertently reveal to their guests by the objects they have around themselves.Yet, these images reveal not only details about her subjects, but also an insight into ourselves.
