Joella’s paintings explore a world of imagined landscapes and forms where traditional drawing meets modern architecture. Her work delves into her own mind set where these minimal spaces suggest a sense of escapism and stillness with many possible narratives and endings. Joella challenges herself and the viewer by working with the shape of each canvas and line perspective in order to provide a sense of balance and unbalance in each composition. Joella’s work was selected for The Future Can Wait and New Sensations at the Saatchi Gallery in 2014 and I Cheer a Dead Man’s Sweetheart at the De La Warr Pavilion.
