Johanna Billing, ‘I'm Gonna Live Anyhow Until I Die’, 2012, Laveronica Arte Contemporanea

I'm gonna live anyhow until I die, 2012, is a video work, set in Rome, that has it’s origins in a project to mark the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, co-commissioned by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin and the MAC, Belfast, during 2010-2012.

About Johanna Billing

Johanna Billing explores issues of learning, interaction, and collaboration in her staged and documentary films. Part voyeur and part social scientist, Billing records groups of amateur performers and children interacting in various milieus—improvising dances or performing music—paying particular attention to the disconnect between individual and group interpretation. For her project “You Don’t Love Me Yet” (2002-03), Billing invited an international cast of musicians to perform individual renditions of the same, titular pop song.
