This dual piece can be hung as Prom Time or turned over it becomes Spring Blossom. It is constructed from one book that has been cut and then folded with the single fold technique. Prom Time is reminiscent of the fifties when young girls wore strapless ball room gowns with full length skirts (sometimes over hoops) to their junior-senior proms. Turn this piece over and you have a very elegant, full-bodied plant that pushes its way out of the soil after a long winter to seek out the sun in order to blossom. Artist Joy Campbell intentionally constructed this piece to have a dual purpose in the care of the person who purchases it. Prom Time/Spring Blossom is enclosed in an acrylic box with four one inch diameter silver posts in the corners. It is wired to hang on the wall with two separate wires.
