Tumble Down I is an altered books piece made from discarded books from public libraries and public schools. The single fold process is used throughout. The patina of the books is the result of the natural aging of the pages. The rusted nails that you see are merely decorative; however large 7" nails protruding from the back into the spines of the books are what holds the books in place. The metal frame with faux nail-like heads compliments the piece. The work is wired to hang either vertically or horizontally as a wall piece.
