From a young age, Juan Sebastián Barbera knew he held an artistic calling. He also took classes in percussion, painting and engraving from great masters; however, he dedicated himself to visual arts at the age of 17, after a mystical journey to India. Self-taught, he started his career at the Academy of San Carlos and, at the same time received a degree in Industrial Design. Barbera has exhibited in more than 40 cultural centers, museums and prestigious galleries in Mexico, Spain, France, Israel, the United States and India.
This artist has few straight lines in his works. Each curve, hook, dip, and spiral tells viewers stories of human figures showing viewers stories of love, passion, perversion, and the trials with being human.
The artist utilizes curves through abstract expressionism to show us themes of eroticism, sadness, and happiness.
