Kadet Kuhne, ‘Drone Tower’, 2015, San Francisco Cinematheque: Benefit Auction 2016

In an age of hyper communication and digital saturation, Kadet Kuhne forges a personal
connection with her audience by reclaiming the means that first facilitated the disconnection. Her post-Duchampian process is aimed at the nerve stimulus, intended to provoke visceral emotion. Curvilinear forms interlock in Drone Tower, surging organically from a rounded base into a manipulated crest. Kuhne’s work has been exhibited at the Society of Arts and Technology in Montreal, Arts Walk in Washington D.C., and in Europe.

Artist's Description: Drone Tower is based on Cymatics, the visible effects of sound and vibration. The image the model is designed from is the pattern of a processed noise drone.
